Black Bear customer Joe Elliott has done it! He's won the British Super Twins Drag Racing Championship on board his amazing Buell 1125R and we are thrilled for him at his success!
Having led the championship for the latter part of the season, he finally clinched the title at the National Finals at Santa Pod at the end of September.

And Erik Buell sent him an email congratulating him on his success, describing it as a "great result".
Our website designers were lucky enough to catch up with Joe on the weekend of his win to film an interview and footage of him racing for our new podcast.
Joe competes in the Super Twins Street Modified ET class, racing over the quarter-mile strip. He said of his Buell: "It has been absolutely brilliant and hasn't let me down! It is 100% reliable and has been so consistent, which it needed to be to win. Buell may own the corners, but it now owns the straights as well!"
Joe was the first to buy a Buell 1125R from Black Bear and was so impressed with his new bike's speed and power that he relinquished his trusty XB12S Buell Lightning to make way for the faster model on the drag strip.
"I ran the first two rounds on my old Buell and the third round on my new Buell - and it won at the summer nationals!" he said. "It is a lot more powerful and quicker, reaching a top speed of 133mph!" And you can watch his fastest time being set by clicking on this YouTube link: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnjxhCqZEUk
Joe, from Peterborough, has been drag racing for many years and bought the 1125R from us a couple of months ago with the aim of racing it. He still speaks loyally of his XB12S, which he has raced for several years and it has "never gone wrong". But with the Lightning's fastest time of 11.3 secs at 123mph, recorded with the help of a tail wind, the 1125R is easily the quicker option for him now. His fastest time on it is 10.53 secs.
He initially took it out on the road when he first collected it from us. It then had its first service and afterwards headed straight to the drag strip. "The gearbox is lovely on it and I thought, instead of taking my other Buell, why not give this a try - and it won!" said Joe.
Joe is still competing in other drag events over the coming months, but will return to defend his championship title next year. And with the help of a few modifications, he is aiming to run 9 secs.
