At Black Bear we have a reputation for being rather more Buell friendly than most dealers, we sell a lot of new and used Buells, we carry a large stock of Buell clothing and accessories (including after market items) and have probably the best equipped and best staffed Buell workshop in the authorised dealer network.
If that's not enough we probably have a higher proportion of staff members who own and ride their own Buells (mainly Ulysses!) than you're likely to find anywhere. Nigel, our owner, has an XB12XT on which he has covered 8,000 miles both commuting and touring around Europe in its first 10 months. I have my venerable S1W White Lightning and an '06 XB12X which has now covered in excess of 15,000 miles. Nobby in our Parts Department has another XB12X which covered the length of the North and South American continents in the hands of its original owner and (having not yet reached its second birthday) is now indicating over 30,000 miles. Finally Sandy, also from our Parts Department, (who has previously owned an X1 Lightning) has recently taken delivery of a new '09 model XB12X.
We have a number of events planned specifically for Buell owners this year and hope you will be able to join us for as many of them as you can make. It is quite possible that other events will be added as the year continues and I will update you on these plans as they materialise.
Friday 19 June. Buell Performance Academy Experience Day, Mallory Park. One of a series of events organised by Buell UK using their machines to explore the capabilities of Buells both on track and off road. We intend to take part in the morning programme and will meet at the circuit in time for briefing and breakfast (time to be confirmed). Saturday 18 July. UKBEG Emma Radford Buell Event, East Kirkby, Lincs. UKBEG's major annual gathering at this old World War 2 airfield where you can see and hear a Lancaster bomber taxiing along the runway and witness a flypast by a Spitfire. Last year we finally topped our target of 100 Buells attending East Kirkby. We will meet at the Black Bear showroom at 9am, ready to leave at 9.30am.
Sunday 23 August. UKBEG Meeting at Sammy Miller Museum, New Milton, Hants. A great venue with an eclectic collection of motorcycles gathered together by a veteran motorcycling hero in the beautiful New Forest. Due to me living en route from Newmarket to New Milton the only confirmed rendezvous for this rideout is the Little Chef in Buckingham (at the junction of the A421 and A413) at 9.30am. If we have a volunteer to lead a ride from Newmarket I would suggest meeting at Black Bear showroom at 8am. Any volunteers please contact me and times and places will be confirmed closer to the event.
